Juniors are looking for a Director of Hockey

The juniors section of Spencer Hockey Club is looking to appoint a Director of Juniors hockey (DOJH).

The juniors section comprises over 370 junior members and 60+ parent volunteers. Working with the Junior Hockey committee, the DOJH will assume responsibility for the many aspects of the junior hockey section.

The role will include the planning and monitoring of a structured coaching plan across the juniors section, coaching individual sessions, as well as mentoring and developing volunteer coaches.

The juniors section is a friendly, family focused section which values the contribution of its many parent volunteers. The DOJH would be expected to build on that foundation with an aim of professionalising the coaching and volunteer management thereby improving the scope and standard of hockey experience provided to the juniors.

Ideally the candidate will be a level 2 or 3 coach, with juniors coaching experience as well as experience working with a volunteer workforce.

Strong hockey contacts within local schools, hockey teams and associations coupled with access to astro pitches would be an advantage.

Working hours will be part time and flexible - approx. 400 hours per year focussed on Sundays and evenings in the hockey season and school holidays.

Planning and administration duties all year round. Pay will be commensurate with the role and experience of the candidate.

Send your CV and letter of application to jhc@hockey.spencerclub.org by 31st March 2014
