Spencer HC and all junior club leagues and tournaments uses a 1 September cut off for grouping players (ie following the school year). Junior Development Centres (ie county level and above) use 1 January cut off.

Dates 2012/13 Season
Training is every Sunday during the season except for half term.
Sunday 9 Sep - 16 Dec 2012 and 6 Jan - 24 March 2013 (Except half term breaks: 28 Oct 12 and 17 Feb 13)
Some teams may have additional matches in April and May 2013.
Girls U16 and Boys U16 have additional training on a week day evening, day and time TBC. U14s may be invited by their manager or coach to attend these sessions.
We usually go ahead if it is raining. In the case of extremely wet and stormy or snowy weather, a notice cancelling the session will be posted on the website at least half an hour before your scheduled session start time.
Volunteering
The hockey section is run by volunteers with only a couple of roles carried out by paid staff. As a member of the club, we hope that you will embrace the club's ethos by donating your time and skills to help our children enjoy the best possible sporting experience. Find out more about volunteering.

Child Welfare and Club Governance
Spencer Hockey Club follows recommended child safeguarding and protection policies laid down by England Hockey Board. Coaches and team managers are checked by the criminal records bureau and are trained to follow the recommended best practices.
